Small group travel has a been a most terrific way to meet new friends from around the world. As a single person, I have really enjoyed joining small group tours. Not only are the guides and itineraries fantastic, but it has been a pleasure to get to know new friends and to experience together the adventures awaiting us in a new country. In this picture, our small group of 7 travelers had just toured some vineyards in Tuscany, and we were sitting down to a wine tasting experience at Monte Oliveto. Through the week, our group also took an Italian cooking class together, we hiked, explored Tuscany, and we had a great time eating, drinking, and playing Farkle together.
If you are a solo traveler, you might consider a small group tour. It's an excellent way to travel, to meet friends, to have logistics planned out for you, but to also have some time on your own, if this is what you'd like. On this Tuscany Local Living tour, I enjoyed time with new friends from the UK and Canada (as well as our guide, Anna, from near Sorrento, Italy), but I also spent our day trips in Siena and Florence on my own...doing and seeing what I wanted to do for the day...and meeting back up with the group in the evening. It was a perfect mix!
If you're solo, and you're interested in travel that is a combo of solo and communal, contact me. I'd love to visit with you! And of course, if you're not solo, small group travel is also a wonderful way to travel as a couple or family. Below, couples Megan and Sam and Uta and Andy joined the group from the UK, Mary was a solo traveler from Canada, and I was a solo traveler from the U.S.
